The first three photos are from Pendleton Round Up (happens every second week in September). The Youth Group hosted by our church spends a week scooping curls of ice cream into cones or cups, generating a working budget of thousands of dollars. It is a fund raiser which involves the entire community in one way or another and gives the youth who work the booth a thankful attitude for their activities. Sweating for cash to buy Christmas gifts for a youth ranch in Idaho is a wonderful lesson in thanks.
The Tillamook ice cream is one of the BEST ice creams made. Our Young Disciples don’t sell Tillamook, they promote something a bit more local to Eastern Oregon. It, however, scoops nicely into big bowls creating delicious creamy goodness.
There are some days this Alaskan girl cannot think of a better blessing to be thankful for than ice cream!!!
