Growing to glow

I love poppies. These are from seeds I gathered in one of my relatives’ yards and I admit, I was bummed when I realised they were NOT pink or some other fun color. Yet, I love watching them burst into bloom. I am pretty sure the name poppy comes from their ‘hats’. Their petals are intricately wrapped inside tiny hard green furry hats. As the flower grows, they push off their hats until suddenly– POP! Releasing the bloom to the weather. I like how the tight furls of silken pieces open to greet the sunshine, taking the glow to their inner darkness. A poppy shines from every direction.  It doesn’t matter which way you look. It is incredible from on top, underneath, and inside. Bright blessings blooming just for me!
