Serving

um-pendleton

From records I’ve found in my short research, this courthouse has been around for a very long time. Umatilla County Courthouse was built in 1889, the structure still being used today was built in 1956. I honestly do not know how other countries handle criminal cases. I have been a fan of the US judicial courts since my first afternoon spent with Perry Mason. Granted, he was pure Hollywood, but oh it was so much fun!!!

Serving on jury duty isn’t entirely thrilling, but I am glad I have had the chance to be a part of it. Someday, I do hope to serve on an actual jury. I am sure it will be sobering. Deciding a person’s future in a few hours is humbling. I don’t always agree with the way cases turn out. I am not always sure lawyers play the cards the way they should. I sometimes wonder if information is skewed. But, I am always thankful to know these courts exist and truth (I hope!) is key in making decisions.

Today, I am blessed to be a tiny part of the cog in making the county I live in a more lawful place.
