In a blog comment I read this evening, I was reminded of a great story. I was on a bus in Korea, looking out the window. The bus was passing by the base in Seoul and I was watching an American teen on a skateboard. The sidewalk was NOT very smooth, nor was the young man. Predictably, he wiped out and as I laughed I heard a giggle nearby. I turned my head and caught eyes with a girl about my age. We grinned at each other and our souls connected for a moment in time. It didn’t matter we were from different countries and most likely could not speak to each other. In that instant, we shared a smile. A smile that crossed borders and languages and it was a blessing. I know I grew a great deal from that tiny second in time, I only hope she did as well.
