Anyone who has been around fishing knows how important a net is. Whether it is roundish for scooping fish from a river (dip netting), or oval for slipping under to raise fish from the water, or larger and attached to cables, they all do the same job and get ripped. If they remain full of holes, they don’t do the job and prove unworthy for the task. They need mended with ties and more string to create a stronger net. The knots hold to each other in moving water, tightening, and growing secure. I’m thankful for the people around me who are tethered to my life. They may loosen and need repaired, some may need discarded as we grow apart, but they are all blessings because of the part they play or once played. Blest be those ties that bind, in all circumstances.
