Raindrops on…Fireweed.

These are a few of my favorite things!! I remember fireweed as one of those nectar providing plants for kids and bumblebees alike. It was prettier than clover and once the flowers were sucked dry, the stalks made great spears or arrows.

Today we had a terrific rainstorm lasting most of the day. When it finally looked about done, I wandered outside to see what had survived. The dust was washed off the plants and leaves and tiny jewels were sparkling on every vista. It was beautiful-in spite of the mosquitoes! Everything was bright and perky, glowing in the sun breaking through the grey clouds. It was definitely a time to embrace blessings of color, of busy winged creatures, and the reflections in the crystals all around.
